چکیده

The PEP main ring magnet system consists of 192 bending magnets, 216 quadrupoles, 206 sextupoles and numerous other correction elements. The main ring bend magnets are laminated “C” frame dipoles having a very uniform flat field meeting a new criterion of symmetry called the residual asymmetry factor (RAF5 10m5). The main ring quadrupoles consist of 216 laminated magnets of three differing lengths having a bore of 100 mm diam. The multipole content of these magnets as measured is 5 10-3. The present status of both magnets is that production has begun and completion is scheduled for early 1979.

PEP-II Injection Timing and Controls

Hardware has been built and software written and incorporated in the existing SLC accelerator control system to control injection of beam pulses from the accelerator into the PEP-II storage rings currently under construction. Hardware includes a CAMAC module to delay the machine timing fiducial in order that a beam pulse extracted from a damping ring will be injected into a selected group of fo...

PEP-N Simulation and Multihadron Detection

The PEP-N experiment is proposed to study e+e− collisions occurring between the LER (SLAC Low Energy Ring) positrons, which have a fixed energy of 3.12 GeV, and the electrons stored in the VLER (Very Low Energy Ring) with energy variable in the range 0.2 GeV to 0.8 GeV, which correspond to center of mass energies from about 1.5 GeV to 3.1 GeV. Because of this, the e+e− center of mass (CM) syste...

Beam-beam simulation studies for PEP-II and KEKB

We have performed 3D PIC simulations for PEP-II, SuperKEKB and KEKB parameters by using SLAC[1], LBL[3] and KEK[2] code. Input parameters for PEP-II, SuperKEKB and KEKB are listed in table 1, 2, 3, respectively. The simulation results are shown in Fig. 1, 2, 3 and 4. These results are in reasonable agreement. For PEP-II parameter at the LER horizontal tune of 0.5125, Luminosity by KEK code is s...
